Last one?

 This may well be the last post here as I plan on moving the blog over to the new website at blackout-tattoo.com. until I get my head around that conundrum you can take a look at the tattoo I made on my new friend Miss Timka yesterday.

 

Her name is cookie.

And I thought as an added bonus for your eyes I would throw up a sketch for a half sleeve of dragon goodness. This is going to be a little different when it gets tattooed, When it goes up on the new site, you'll see.

dot coms and candles

I made a candle tattoo on my long time customer Mr pong the other day to fill in a small space that he had left inside his arm bone.  his only stipulation with this one was that it must have a city and pink sky background. This is what he got. As always it was a pleasure tattooing him.

 In other news, i recently set up a website to act as a sort of portfolio of work. its still a work in progress and will likely go through a few revisions including adding a new blog before its finished, but until then it looks something like this. go check it out

Thanks for looking

My new client Alan flew in from California wanting to get a tattoo that represented his Chinese heritage, and his Chinese Zodiac sign. I figured what could encapsulate these 2 ideas better than a monkey riding a flaming dragon. I am not sure if this has ever happened in the animal kingdom, but I am betting that if it has it probably looked something like this:

 After 2 years of tattooing many wonderful customers at the BLACKOUT in causeway bay with my good friend Electric Pick, I have officially closed the doors.......BUT.......have no fear, BLACKOUT has moved into a new location back in the heart of Kowloon.

As of April 1st I will be joining my friends Pick and Nic Tse, and opening the doors to the South China Sea Collective.

Happy New Year!

This is my first tattoo of 2012, and if the misguided and the mentally challenged are correct in thinking that the world is going to end in 2012, it might be the most prophetic one I do all year.

I found this one kicking around in the tat-bank and I cant remember posting it, so consider this one a freebie. It's half healed and half fresh...you know the drill. 

Also there are still 2 Electric Pick prints available in the studio. These beauties went very quickly, but the remaining ones are still here, waiting to adorn some lucky art lover's wall. Swing by to get your hands on them. They are the A2 version and can be had for HK$500. fucking bargain.

Finally I want to thank all the friends, blog followers and amazing customers that made BLACKOUT a blast to work at this year. Without you guys there wouldn't be a BLACKOUT so feel free to have a drink tonight and give yourselves a pat on the back.

Personally I am excited for 2012 to properly take off. We have some very interesting plans for the studio this year, and a lot of different projects that will hopefully make the transition from imagination to reality. Happy new year friends, and I hope 2012 treats you well!!!

Sorry sorry sorry, I know, I know. It's been for ever since I dropped some pictures for your viewing pleasure. Don't worry I intend to make it up to you with this one. It's been a crazy Busy month and there hasn't been much time to breathe, but on the plus side I got to do some great tattoos and even squeeze out a couple of little paintings too.

First up, the lovely Miss Karo came back from the mysterious land of Nether, she travels a whole lot and wanted to remind herself of the joys of living out of a suitcase. This is what she ended up with. Yup. It's a ship. A pirate ship. In a lotus Flower. yargh.

A nice dude called Matthew got the wings of hermes on his leg bones. Also because he is on the road to Europe and obviously he wants to get there quickly. True story.

 

 I also got to do my cheong saam wearing, cigarette smoking, High heel rocking pin-up.

Lastly, here are some animals. Those of you in the know will clearly see that they are both scientifically and biologically accurate.

In other news. The one Mr. Electric Pick is off on another adventure to foreign lands. Gone but not forgotten

It is always a huge pleasure when someone chooses you to tattoo them. It is even more of pleasure when someone asks you to tattoo something that means a great deal to them. This tattoo was one of those.
It's the robot from Laputa : Castle in the sky (which if you haven't seen, then you are missing out)

Everyone knows that robots are awesome. It's a bonafide fact. "But which robots are the most awesome?" you ask. Well I dont know about your tastes, but here is my top 5:

Change is good... Right?

Well we think so! However, we're a bit slow too so... Here's a new look and a new feel but give us a few weeks to figure out how to finish it all. Forgive us for the missing sections for now but we're on it! Mhm! True story!

Ooooweeeee. April was crazy. First friends in town. Then family and friends in town. Then more friends in town. Some friends are still in town. and some not so much.

despite all this I did manage to get some tattooing done also. Here are 2 of my favorites...

This skully geezer is on buddy Steve. One of the nicest people around. The eagle is round 1 on Nate. 1 more session to go and we will be home free.

Finally we are planning on making some sweeping changes on the blog front in the next few weeks, so keep your eyes peeled.

Hello friends, long time no see. Please excuse the lack of updates, I have been trying to quit the evil nicotine habit, and thus all my spare time has been spent trying not to kill everyone. It has worked so far, but we will see how that goes.

First up, I had the pleasure of tattooing a couple of real nice people from the POWER PLANT art show that was in town. Here is what the lovely Miss Karo went with.

Secondly, one of the perks of a blog is that you get to pimp things you think are awesome, and POWER PLANT most certainly was. Its currently at the walled city gardens in Kowloon City (yes the same Kowloon city that's in black ops.) It's gonna be there for a few more days, and though it's sold out, you might be able to sort something out. You would be a fool to miss it!! here are some of the things you get to see there:

ditch diving and other endevours

I thought i would throw up the last tattoos from tonight and yesterday for your viewing pleasure. First up buddy Hermod got a sweet gypsy girl on the inside of his arm. Sat like a hero and even joined me for a couple at my favorite bar after. Awesome!!

Number 2 is buddy jacky and his new shark. Right in the ditch of the elbow, which i consider to be the most painful spot on your arm to get tattooed. Not only did buddy jacky not move an inch through it, he did all this while ailing with the flu. Legend

hi folks, hope everyone had a great few holiday days...i did!! but now its time to get back to work.
i thought id post up the last tattoo i did before christmas. with any luck you all have awesome plans for the new year, i hope it ends up hang over free!!

"look at the blood stains right there..."

i got to tattoo the lovely sarah this week with some cherry blossoms. these tattoos are always fun to do, and this one had particular meaning for her, which made it even more pleasing that i got to do it for her. we went for a style that is much like a traditional chinese painting, and it came out pretty nice i think. she is going to swing by in a couple of weeks and let me get some healed up pics so hopefully ill have them up sometime in the future.also i got in another session with the incredible donk, and his koi fish revamp. you might remember what it looked like before, if not you can check here. its not the best photo as some of it is fresh and some is still healing, which doesnt help my crappy camera out.
ive left the front side open for now as we are planning to put some more japanese style awesomeness onto his chest in a few weeks time.

some people have been e-mailing about availability over the X'mas holidays so here is a rough idea of when ill be closed:
